National Hat Day

National Hat Day is always celebrated the same time every year on January 15th, it is not truly a “National” day which is recognized by congress so naturally hat loves or individuals that love wearing hats came up with this tradition.

National Hat Day is set up so that we can wear and enjoy the hat of our choice. Hats come in all shapes and sizes, styles, colors. There are tall ones, short ones; flat ones and large ones, there is even a hat that fits every head because they can be adjustable. Hats fit our personality; some like sports hats, ball hats, top hats, floppy hats, and sun hats, there are all kinds of hats.

People use hats to promote their favorite sport team or company that they work for and some have to wear hats otherwise known as helmets or hard hats to protect their heads while playing sports or doing hard work.

Baseball players wear helmets to protect injury from the ball, hockey players wear helmets as protection from pucks and construction workers wear hard hats to protect them from debris on the job.

An interesting fact to remember is that you lose more heat from your head than any other part of your body that is why you have always heard, “wear a hat when it is cold outside or you will catch cold.” Now you know why you heard that so much. So now when it is cold outside make sure you wear a hat to keep your head warm and the heat in.

National Hat Day is not intended as a day just to keep your head warm but a chance to wear your hat and make a statement, support your favorite team or favorite hat. So come January 15th tell all your family and friends how they too can support their favorite hat.
